Hello all,

If you’re looking for a team to complement your in-house development, or
have a project that you don’t seem to have time to implement, RiverGlide
have some availability in our Sydney based office.

We have significant experience with Ruby (and Rails), and have helped
several clients to decouple their business logic from legacy Rails
codebases. With one client, we were able to reduce the lines of code by
25%, while adding functionality, by delegating out of Rails early and
focussing on the business logic in a more Ruby style.

We have experience across a wide range of languages and frameworks. We
prefer frameworks that do one thing well, rather than those that try to do
multiple things to an OK standard.

We have experience in front-end and back-end, as well as database design
and system administration.

We created the Screenplay pattern
<https://www.infoq.com/articles/Beyond-Page-Objects-Test-Automation-Serenity-Screenplay>
(an improvement on the Page Object Pattern, as used by Capybara), and the Robot
Handles
pattern (a way to
establish intention between the application and a client, such as user
tests or screenreaders).

We also created an unedited, warts-and-all, pair programming screencast
called PairWith.Us <http://pairwith.us> (sadly on hiatus at the moment),
which has been used as source material for multiple PhD studies into the
communication styles of teams.

From a business domain point of view, we are great at getting to the
essence of your domain. With one client, we were able to identify a much
simpler “shadow domain model” that was hiding behind a more common domain
with multiple complex exceptions. We will work with you to understand the
problems you are trying to solve so that we can come up with the best
solution together.

We can offer technical guidance, architectural review, analysis of your
code base, or we can create bespoke software with you.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in discussing further,
please contact Andy at ***@riverglide.com or call on +61 478 788 694

All the best,

Andy
