GiVV Technologies is a highly innovative and creative payments and loyalty
systems provider to top retailers, shopping centres, sport clubs and
entertainment venues. We’ve been in business for eight years and growing
rapidly in Australia and the U.S. We’re looking for a mid to senior
software engineer to fill a new full-time position.

To enjoy this role:

1. You love to develop and deploy application code in a continuous
integration environment to cloud infrastructure.
2. You want to own projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering,
estimation, design, build, test, deployment and on-going support.
3. You are detailed oriented and process driven, and feel uncomfortable
when procedures fail.
4. You welcome feeling empowered to develop and drive new ideas.
5. You are passionate to learn new technologies.

The skills and competencies we’d like you to have:

1. A Computer Science degree or equivalent industry experience.
2. Strong hands-on programming skills; Ruby on Rails is preferable.
3. An in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of a mainstream
computing language.
4. Strong experience in systems handling a high volume of transactions.
5. Excellent communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.

The technical stack that we use:

1. AWS, Postgresql, Heroku, Redis, Sendgrid, Indue, Blackhawk, eMerchants
2. Ruby, Rails, RSpec, SASS, HAML, Bootstrap, Javascript
3. Node, ES6, React, Webpack, WebSockets (but we have much to learn)
4. Adobe Flash (yikes!)
5. Travis, Github, Jira, Confluence

The bottom line is, we would love to hear from you if you can code well and
do so without a lot of supervision. Code well means using the least number
of lines of code to produce the best outcome requested by the business,
accompanied by tests that provide peace of mind to other developers that
the code is straight-forward and changeable. You should have a good
understanding of the fundamentals of computer engineering. Ideally, you
know Ruby on Rails; alternatively, you’re an experienced engineer from
another platform and passionate to learn.

If this sounds like your next step up in your career, send your expression
of interest to michael at givvtechnologies dot com.

Location: Alexandria, Sydney

Remote: Some on-site (3 days per week)

Salary: Competitive (mid six-digit salary + super)
